Aggressive Listening – a possible definition
Aggressive Listening (2018, 2021 and 2024)
‘Aggressive listening corresponds to a form of staring by auditory means.’* Rather than paying attention in order to attack something said or done, to speak oneself, Bureau for Listening considers aggressive listening as a continued upheld field of attention; affecting back upon the attended. Attention as the attack itself. Aggressive listening changes the context; it infiltrates, infects, and disrupts its surroundings. Perceived as aggressive by the status quo. Aggressive listening is to fight for a perspective. Agents everywhere are practicing listening as warfare. The effects generated by listening can be devastating. Aggressive listening is equally a lethal weapon as a survival skill.
