Repeat until the stone disappears into its surroundings.

STONE / ROOM

Place a stone in a room.

Do not touch it.

Do not produce a sound with it.

Listen to the stone.

Listen to the room.

Continue listening
until the distinction
between stone and room
is no longer necessary.

Leave the stone where it is.

For a concert:

Place 20–35 stones of different origins and sizes throughout the room.

STONE PIECE

for one stone and one or more listeners

Choose a stone.

Hold it until it becomes silent.

Listen.

Turn the stone.

Listen again.

Move the stone
as little as possible.

Listen.

Touch the stone
without moving it.

Listen.

Place the stone
on another surface.

Listen to the moment
before the sound,
the sound,
and the sound after the sound.

Wait
until the room is louder
than the stone.

Change nothing.

Listen.

If another listener hears something
you do not,
the piece continues.

When no one knows
whether the stone is sounding,
leave it where it is.
