Concept Piece No. VII – Circular Listening

Concept Piece No. VII – Circular Listening

Walk in a circle (5 meters in diameter, suggestion).

As you walk in a circle, sense the walk as a returning return.

Continue to return without arriving (there is no beginning or ending).

Walk while listening.

Do not measure the distance (you have already travelled much further than you can grasp, and will continue further than you can imagine).

Attend to the shifts in your attention (sense how you return but never repeat).

Attend to how your attention affects your walk, your breathing, your circle, your listening.

What can only be heard and attended to through repetition?

What can you let go off because you keep returning?

When does a repeated sound become a new sound?

Continue until repetition becomes difference.
