Anthology for Listening Vol. I. SOLSORT
This is the composition called “solsort” which is the Danish word for blackbird.
The performer on the tune is actually a real blackbird, which was recorded near the outskirts of Copenhagen 2 years ago. The blackbird sang so beautifully – I recorded it – and pitched it down in tempo. This made me hear the beautiful melody the bird was singing that day, and I felt so pleased and intrigued!
In the final production I added some layers and other textures to accompany the blackbird.
