Context:

The exhibition HAUNT by artists Tobias Kirstein and Claus Haxholm is initiated due to Bureau for Listening’s encounter with the book Handbook of Aggressive Listening by the two artists. The exhibition can there for be thought as a continuation of exchanges and practices regarding (aggressive) listening.

‘The Living Room as a White Cube for Listening’ is filled with white noise and the light of the room is after nightfall that of the TV-light simulators. The room attempts to be a site for aggressive listening, either by practice or as a reading room for Handbook of Aggressive Listening.
